Negative Stereotypes • Examples of negative stereotypes would be that women have no power and need a man in their life. • Even in Disney movies such as Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty they show a woman that needs a man to depend on for strength and survival. They also show these girls having unrealistic curves.

More!!! • You have to look like a model with perfect hair, body, and make up. • Many women magazines have put exclusive dieting articles in. • Also the most overused stereotype of women is that women belong in the kitchen and can not maintain a successful job. People believe women should stay home at home, cook , clean, and look after the kids.

Positive Stereotypes • Not all stereotypes are negative though. • In the Simpsons Lisa and Marge are not dependent on man. • Lisa Is a young intelligent, gifted girl who thinks for herself. • Also in the movie the Blindside Sandra Bullock has a job and has control over her family and the decisions being made. She even goes as far as talking to the football coach and telling him what to do.
