  2. There are two types of short methods in multiplication. There is one which use the left of the column, and all you have to do is carry the tens units (T), but because it is being times by the units you don’t need to plus any thing to it.

  3. Non plus short method!!!: In order to succeed the short method you need to know your times tables, because you may have to come across hard questions. Now your ready to start. The first thing you have to do is times your units by the units, make sure you don’t put it in the wrong column or it will change your answer. You may come across sums that you have carry the tens, and then times the unit by the tens. After times the unit by the tens and if you carried the tens plus it on make sure you don’t you don’t times it or it would change your answer. Last of all you times the units by the hundreds and again if you carried the tens plus it on. EG:2 979 x8 32 57 EG:3 979 x8 7832 657 EG:1 979 x8 2 7

  4. Plus short method • If you times a two digit number you have to plus it, because you have to times it by the tens and units. So first you have to times the bottom unit by the top unit in the right place value. Then times the unit by the ten. And then you times the units by the hundreds. Then times the tens on the bottom by the top units. After times the tens by tens on top. Then times it by the hundreds. Last of all add it all together.
