  2. 1 Areas of Responsibility Manifesto Pledges • Be responsible for the promotion of societies, student activities and volunteering amongst the student body and ensure widened access. • Provide assistance, support and guidance to USSA volunteers. • Ensure that an effective strategy is in place for recruitment, retention, and reward, of student volunteers.   • Along with the appropriate clubs and societies, work on a fundraising and community engagement strategy. • Work with local partners to provide volunteering opportunities for our members in the community. Develop existing clubs and societies and bring them to the next level 2 Use events to bring clubs & societies closer together 3 Form more diverse clubs & societies and encourage more people to create their own clubs/societies 4 Have more employment fairs and events throughout the year • I am the Chair of: • Activities Forum • I sit on the following University committees: • Quality Assurance Committee

  3. 1 What I have done so far: 2 Touring around Clubs & Society meetings introducing myself and finding out issues and plans for the future. Liaising with Careers Service and their events on trying to engage more students in the events and seminars they put on. Researching different schemes to help students and graduates into employment and also what more can be done. Speaking to students about engaging in union activities to empower them and enhance their student experience. 3 4

  4. 1 What I am still working on: 2 Events to create a more together clubs & societies network. Become a volunteer campaign. A University award for exceptional volunteering work. Lobbying politicians on the extra support needed to help students and graduates into employment. 3 4
