  1. Assessment for LearningAction Research Group Tony Hier

  2. Learning Objectives of the AFL Action Research Group To promote strategies for the clear setting of precise Learning Objectives in Lesson Planning documentation and for sharing these with students during the lesson. To promote and review various methods for ongoing review of student learning using AFL strategies

  3. A Cunning Plan…… Choose one class that you teach to try out one or more AFL strategies Consider a particular lesson, series of lessons or even a whole Scheme of Work and what you want the students to learn. Identify the Learning Objectives and develop the learning resources to support the development of student learning Assess the outcomes of the learning that takes place using an AFL technique and involving the students using that strategy (I have identified a great resource for you to consider one or more AFL strategies here….no panic!!). Utilise the results of the assessment to plan for further learning to consolidate and promote pupil progress in the Learning Objective.

  4. The product.. We are looking to develop some exemplar material to share as an online resource and could be produced using either one or a variety of media products eg word documents, powerpoints, digital images or even film….experiment with your creative side! This material will have all of the attributes of the cunning plan…identified learning objectives, learning resources, AFL Technique, Planning for future learning from the results of the assessment. You may already have something that you want to tidy up and present in this way from your existing repetoire of lessons and student outcomes and AFL strategies.
