  1. The Marketplace Club – Member Presentation A place that brings together franchised dealers and trusted suppliers. Chris Elvidge

Why Read This • Do you sometimes feel that, as a small dealer group or single site operation, you are not competing on a level playing field with your larger Competitors. • Do you also feel that you don’t receive the terms and service from suppliers that your larger competitors do. • If that’s right , then read on as there is a solution for you.

The Concept • I have been in Senior FD and MD roles in the Motor Industry 25+ years across several large groups covering many different Franchises. • During that time I have dealt with many different suppliers of products and services. • I have seen products that work and those that don’t. • I have experienced great service and sometimes not. • I have seen good and poor pricing. • But, what I have ended up with is a network of excellent suppliers who I believe are the best in their field, with outstanding products, backed up by excellent service, competitive pricing and who I have personally dealt with and trust. • The Marketplace Club aims to bring together these suppliers under one umbrella. • Thus enabling dealers to take advantage of pre agreed pricing from proven suppliers who deliver what they promise.

Dealer Benefits • The reassurance that suppliers have been used personally by me in recent years and have been proven to-: • Provide the products and services as described • Provide comprehensive support and back up • Be innovative and market leading • Act in a professional and trustworthy way • Have proved themselves in a competitive market • Receive advantageous terms that have been agreed in advance. • It should be noted there maybe odd occasions when a supplier has done a national deal with a manufacturer that my terms will only be as good as those and not better. • Access to products and services that have been tried and tested and do as described. • No fees or subscriptions to join. • It should be noted that there is a also a very small commission paid by the Supplier to the The Marketplace Club depending on the business conducted and that is how I make a return for operating the Club .

Who are the Suppliers • There are currently 24 suppliers dedicated to the scheme and more will be added in 6 months time once the Club is fully up and running. • These suppliers along with a short description of their business area are listed on the next few slides. • Further details of these suppliers and the products and services they offer are shown in the electronic brochure which can be viewed by clicking here or by going to the dedicated website at www.themarketplaceclub.co.uk

How do I take advantage of the pricing • As you can appreciate the pricing I have agreed with the suppliers is commercially very sensitive and therefore Suppliers will only reveal the agreed terms when they have spoken to or met you directly. • Once you are a member and you have your unique membership number you can contact the suppliers by using the contact details at the bottom of their page of the electronic brochure or website. • Some of the Suppliers may also make direct contact with yourselves but will only do so on the basis you have agreed to on the application form. So please if you can don’t restrict the method or number of contacts too much. • It is always best to meet the supplier and give the background to your business rather than just receive cold pricing. I would always recommend you set up meetings with suppliers and see what they can offer, with the confidence you know they can do what they promise and have agreed beneficial terms in advance.

How can I Join • To join the club • Firstly • Go the website www.themarketplaceclub.co.uk • See all the details of the current suppliers. • Download the application form and complete all the sections including the suppliers you deal with (Y/N) and how you would like to be contacted and how frequently. • Review the draft agreement on the website as this gives you all the T&C’s of the club. • Send the completed application form back to me via email or post • Then • I will send you the membership agreement personalised to you for signing. • You return the agreement back to me in the post or scanned copy and I will issue you a membership number • You then can start to take advantage of the Club.

FAQ’s • Will more suppliers be added to the club • Yes as the Club grows I will be approaching other suppliers I know to join the Club. • How will you keep the prices competitive • I will be reviewing the market on a regular basis and I would also encourage feedback from members to ensure the offers remain competitive. • Why can’t I have the prices once I join. • As the prices and service of the suppliers need to be explain in detail and indeed are commercially sensitive it was felt this is best done by direct contact with the supplier. • I don’t want to be bombarded with calls from suppliers • You can select in the application form how you want to be contacted and how often • How do I know these suppliers do what they say • All of the suppliers have been personally used by me in the past few years and have been selected for their performance as well as their competitive pricing.

FAQ’s • Do dealers have to buy from the Marketplace suppliers ? • No you are free to use as many or as few as you wish. • How long do I have to Join for ? • The initial sign is for a period of 12 months, after that you are free to cancel your membership and leave the scheme. • If in the 12 months you can show me you have tried to use a number of suppliers but failed to reach agreement in terms then I will be more than happy to cancel your membership of the club as our aim to provide something that both members and suppliers want to be part of and benefit from. • Why is there only one supplier for each product and service • As part of the price negotiation I have confirmed to suppliers they will be the solus supplier of their goods or services. • Can I suggest other products and services that should be offered by the Club • Yes I will be looking to broaden the goods and services covered in the future whilst keeping to the ethos of known suppliers. • What is the target market • All franchised dealers are eligible to join the scheme but I will not exclude independent used car operations if they fit with the Club’s ethos.
