Focus of Presentation • Provide information on forthcoming works (4x29hr weekend possessions & 8 week blockade). • Advise what alternative transport arrangements are proposed whilst the train service is disrupted. • Meeting will not centre on previous complaints – purpose is to be “informative”.

  4. Scheme Details • Install a 3km length of passing loop between Alvechurch and Redditch • Aim to increase capacity on the Redditch Branch Line from 2 to 3 trains per hour Main Lines Redditch Branch

  15. 29 Hour Possessions • Week 13 – 00:10 Sun 22nd June to 05:30 Mon 23rd June • Installation of OLE gantries to Mid-point to north of Grange Lane • Placement of bottom ballast • Installation of OLE foundations • Wingwall retaining wall to Overbridge at Station Road • Week 14 - 00:10 Sun 29thJune to 05:30 Mon 30thJune • Installation of OLE gantries to Grange Lane to Alvechurch • Placement of bottom ballast • Wingwall retaining wall to Overbridge at Station Road

  16. Blockade Works • Install new signal panel at Saltley PSB • Removal of 72 no. OLE gantries & cantilevers • Removal of 85 no. existing OLE foundations • Relay 1500m of existing track on Down Line • Slew 1700m of existing track on Down Line • Install new 3000m track. • Install S&C (2no.) • 10 no. engineering trains • 12 no. tamping shifts • Install 116 no. OLE gantries - 7900m of wire runs • Install signalling equipment • Install CCTV, PA systems, CIS etc at Station • Testing & commissioning • Open Line & Station
