HISTORY: SOME MILESTONES Программная инженерия photo • 2008 – Faculty’s lead consortium of 12 universities wins a competition on development of a new Federal standard of higher education in the field of Sociology • 2008 – Faculty of Sociology co-organizes the 3rd Russian Sociological Congress (more than 1500 participants, ca. 70 events etc.) • 2009 – 2 new MA programmes: Sociology of the Public Sphere and Social Communication (Head – Prof. Dr. Nikita Pokrovsky) and Demography (Head – Prof. Dr. Anatoly Vishnevsky) • 2010 – first full time positions for teaching staff hired on international market established • 2010 – academic PhD (= graduate college) established, as for 2012 - 10 PhD students • 2012 – “Embeddedness and Beyond” Joint Interim Conference of ISA RC02 “Economy and Society” and ESA Economic Sociology Research Network with the support of ASA Economic Sociology Section to be conducted (October) photo photo photo photo Higher School of Economics , Moscow, 2010
