  1. HES Meeting with Mike Spata Aug. 8, 2006 @ Tohoku University 1. Pre/Post chicane layout2. Radiation budget, Local dump design 3. Diagnostic Instrumentation 4. Beam transport optics (raster, multiple scat.)5. Vacuum chamber design SNN 20060808

  2. Troubles at E01-011 • PS installation • Communication between HKS Gr., Acc Gr, Hall C engineers, surveyors and Walter’s Group • Magnets Power Supplies (Water supply, instability of PS) • FSD interlock (ion chamber?) • Viewer rad. Damage • Vacuum problem • Beam tuning procedure, beam punch through • Viewer limit mode affects other halls

  3. The New Splitter (Final) GAP 190mm 102 l/min (0.5MPa) 208 V x 957 A x 224 turns

  4. No DZ, EZ Pre Chicane

  5. Drawing of the HES + HKS This part design is necessary to finalize the HES position HES HKS New SPL

  6. How much distance? Any diag. tools?

  7. Beam height

  8. Bremsstrahlung background rates

  9. Tilt Angle Optimization & Beam Current • Due to higher primary beam momentum, we expect less e’ background • Improve HKS K+ ID trigger Possibility to increase beam current 100 mA option is possible? Radiation Budget Photon Dump Target heat problem

  10. PS, Water requirement • HKS • Q1 160Vx1000A (102Vx600A);50 l/min (0.6MPa) • Q2 160Vx1000A (50Vx400A);17 l/min(0.4MPa) • D 252V x 1254A (Mitsubishi); 135 l/min (0.4Ma) • D-PS 73 l/min (0.9MPa) • HES • SPL 205x1020A (106 l/min,0.5MPa) • Q1 110Vx880A (41 l/min,0.5MPa) • Q2 110Vx880A (42 l/min,0.5MPa) • HES D 233Vx1100A PS (from Japan) 150 l/min+70 l/min(PS) Design input 35 C (95 F) D 30 K (18F)

  11. Schedule • 2006 Aug • Irons are dispatched to the company • Final design of the coils • Cut iron will be delivered by the end of 2006 • 2006 Aug 24-28 • Osamu,Nue will visit JLab • Early 2007 • Assembly and field mapping • Summer~Autumn 2007 • Shipping SPL+HES(QQD) to JLab
