  3. RESEARCH & SELF ANALYSIS 2 • Trinity • The Holy Spirit tends to be the neglected member of the Trinity, certainly He is the least understood member. Many people think of the Holy Spirit as an impersonal "force" or an "it." • It is fairly easy to envision God the Father because we think of a man with the qualities of a good, loving father. Jesus the Son was a concrete figure of history, and we think in terms of a human being eating, sleeping, talking with friends, etc. • But the Holy Spirit seems mysterious since we don't have a human form to fit Him into. The symbols used to represent Him in Scripture (oil, fire, wind, dove) don't help us much either! But the Bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit, like God the Father and God the Son, is to be worshipped, loved and obeyed. We can get to know Him personally too. • Discuss the meaning of the circular diagram and compare with Water, Ice and Steam. RIVERS BAPTIST CHURCH

  5. TEACHING FROM SCRIPTURE • Self Revelation of GOD • God the Holy Spirit directed and inspired the writing of the Scriptures. • This revelation is evident from the words of the writers in: • Their explanation of how God directed them to write • Their dreams and visions • The Words themselves explaining this fact. • 2 Tim 3:16, Heb 1:1, Eze 3:12, 8:3, 14:24 Rev 1:10 • Some of the following passages also indicate that the Spirit is part of the Trinity or Godhead and thus further prove his self revelation.
