  2. Mission Statement Central Columbia School District provides excellence in education to enable all students to reach their potential as successful and contributing members of a global society.

  3. Belief Statements 1. The needs of ALL children must drive the educational system. 2. Quality schools are committed to excellence providing a variety of means to achieve that goal. 3. All human beings have worth and shall be treated with respect, courtesy, and dignity.

In a quality educational process, community, families, students, and staff communicate and collaborate in decision-making. 6.   7. Teacher Survey Based upon PDE’s Foundational Questions (data-aligned, tied to SAS)

High Quality, Standards Aligned Curriculum will drive instructional strategies, assessments, data analysis, and professional development to provide ALL students with a consistent, high quality education. • Update and board approve k-12 curriculum in all areas and specific high school electives • Continue to revise reading and math curriculum to align with the PA Common Core Research Based Instructional Strategies (LFS, APL, PowerTeaching, …) will be implemented with consistency and monitored daily in EVERY classroom. • Continue to monitor classroom instruction (New - Extending Activities) using Stride Monitoring Tool • At the secondary level, 2-4 Extending Thinking Activities will be included in each EATS Lesson Plan

High Quality Assessments (Common Curricular Assessments, CRAs, CDTs, PSSAs, Keystones…) that are aligned with State and Common Core Standards will measure student achievement and progress. • Implement AIMSWeb Reading and Math in grades k-6 • Implement Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDTs) in grades 6-12 (ms/hs) • Prepare for Keystone Exams in Algebra I, Biology, and Literature (Grade 10) (ms/hs) Analyzed Data will direct fidelity of daily classroom instructional strategies, interventions/enrichment, professional development and alignment of resources in order to assist ALL students to achieve at levels on or above grade level. • Continue using Stride Monitoring Tool to collect daily data on the classroom environment and instruction • Use Stride Monitoring Tool to set quarterly goals with individual teacher, teams, or buildings • Use Stride Monitoring Tool data to identify immediate professional development to be delivered during AM professional time, team time or faculty meeting time

An Intervention Infrastructure will identify struggling students and prescribe specific intervention strategies, adjusting as necessary. • Begin the implementation of an RtII framework in each building which directs interventions/enrichment to all students according to achievement/growth data • In grades 3 and 4, Acceleration of content with struggling students will be implemented Building-Level Support Practices (“The Leader In Me,” SWPBS, Career Pathways,…) will be incorporated at each building to ensure the building school climate is positive and engaging. • Elementary School – Train on “The Leader in Me” with implementation to begin in the spring • Middle School – Through SWBPS, implement Tier 2 behavior interventions to students deemed appropriate • High School – Collect data and form a team to review Career Pathway Experiences which include, but are not limited to, student internships and college level course participation.
