For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45

  3. “The Grinch’s Heart Revealed” • Plans are designed by thoughts • The story of Nabal

  4. “The Grinch’s Heart Revealed” • Commission of the plot v12c….always stirs up dissention… • Signals follow thoughts • Actions follow thoughts

  5. “The Grinch’s Heart Revealed” • Conclusion of the crook vs.15 “...he will • suddenly be destroyed-without remedy • The craving of our thoughts • Be careful with your thoughts • Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice, or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him. • Proverbs 24:17-18

  6. Things to remember and practice • The mouth of man speaks exactly what is programmed in the heart. If deceit fills your heart, then your mouth will speak deceit, but deceit is not rash, ugly and loud speech. Deceitful speech is stealthy speech - calm alluring tones accompanied by half truths and charming lies all with a nice convincing smile. • Do you remember the adverb and phrase Solomon uses to describe the person who plots evil in their heart? “…he always stirs up dissension” Let’s be clear, a person cannot act, do or speak inconsistently with their heart. If you are one to plot evil with deceit in your heart – you will always be one that stirs up dissension. • When your enemy fails or looks like the wrath of God is finally coming down on them, do not gloat, do not rejoice and do not stand high atop a hill with your ear tuned to hear their cries of grief and mourning. Do what Jesus preached and witness the growth of your heart, he said, • “…love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that you may be sons of your father in heaven;…” Matt. 5:44-45 . Amen
