  2. Novoodesskiy district is famous for its unique history, prominent bakers, powerful production and source potential. The main aim of the authority is to create an attractive investment climate in the district. It will give an opportunity for future development. The district will be ready to cooperate with investors, concerning implementation of important investment projects into the prior fields of the district economy development.   3. Novoodesskiy District Formed in 1923. Situatedin the center of Mykolayiv region. The district borderswith Yelanetskiy, Zhovtneviy, Bashtanskiy, Voznesenskiy, Veselinovskiy and Mykolayiv districts. Occupies the area of1428 square kilometers (5,7 % of the total region territory). Number of settlements- 42(1 town, 41 villages). District center: Nova Odesa.

District Infrastructure • 6 big shops with the total area of 1800 square meters, • 184 retail trade points, • 81 general services points, • 1 market, • 29 restaurants, • 6 bank branches , • 2 hotels. Are available in the district 12 petrol stations and 3 gas-filling stations provide services for citizens all day long.

  8. Natural and Resource Potential Minerals Occurrence of granite, limestone, drinking water reserves, drinking water source, like “Ananyevskaya”. Land Resources Water Resources Area of agricultural land is 125.3 thousand ha, including ploughed fields- 101.03 thousand ha, irrigate land- 4.94 thousand ha. Total area is 3.1 thousand ha, including basins 2.1 thousand ha. The Southern Bug river, more than 500 ponds. Woodland Woodland area is 6.2 thousand ha including shelter belts – 1.6 thousand ha.

District Competitive Advantages: • Good geographical location concerning main product markets; • Regional center is nearby; • High level of transport links ,communications development (The Southern Bug, local highways “Mykolayiv - Ulyanovka” and “Mykolayiv - Kirovohrad”, international airport “Mykolayiv”, railway station etc.); • Favorable land resources for agriculture; • Ecological district, 10 objects of nature conservation stock are located in the territory; • availability of natural resources: limestone, granite, sand . • Natural resources and climate are favorable for effective agriculture development.

Industry Main district industrial branches: • Mechanical engineering – 60 %, • Food industry- 25 %, Volume of the sold industrial production (goods, services) for November 1, 2010 is 319.6 million UAH which is almost 3 times more than the previous year. Amount of the employed people in the branch – 885 people. Industry stipulates 50% of the total district production.

  15. Agriculture Main agricultural branches: • crop production (grain and technical crops cultivation) – 78.6%; • animal breeding(cattle) – 21.4%. Grain and technical crops are the most adapted for cultivation in natural and climatic conditions of the district. Drop irrigation implementation will give opportunities for vegetable growing. Cattle breeding is the most principal branch in animal breeding sector. Specific economic efficiency of agricultural branches in the district total sales is 50.0 %. The amount of employees at the agricultural enterprises is3.7 thousand people.

  16. Agricultural closed joint-stockcompany “Huryevka” It was founded in 1950. It is the most powerful agricultural enterprise in the district.The area of agricultural land is 6195 ha. They were the first who implemented half fallow flat cut method of cultivation. Leading Agricultural Enterprises of the District Agricultural production cooperative “MigServis Agro" It was founded in 2002. Stockbreeding complex specializes in hybrid and pedigree pigs breeding. Pigs population is 5.7 thousand heads.

  18. District Experience in Investment Attraction The main investment sources in the district are still the enterprises and organizations’ funds as well as the state and local budget and the population funds. The following amount of investment due to all the sources was used (mln UAH):

  19. District Experience in Investment Attraction • LLC “Trading House “Minsk Tractor Plant “Belarus-Ukraine” started the tractors assembly and sale in 2008. The second and third production lines were commissioned in 2010. The tractors production in comparison to 2009 was tripled, 2270 tractors of 6 modifications have been assembled for 11 months of 2010. 65 working places have been arranged. • “Ivanov” farm enterprise started the construction of a roadside hotel complex at the territory of Sebinskyi Village Council. About 20.0 mln UAH were invested into the construction. About 20 working places are planned to be arranged. • LLCAgricultural “Nibulon” started the construction of the transloading terminal for transloading grain and oil crops to the river transport with the production capacity 200 thousandtons per year. The approximate project cost is 150 mln UAH. According to the project up to 100 working places are to be provided. At the moment 150.0 mln UAH are invested. • The project which provides technical re-equipment of a former bakery plant and regeneration of its work is being implemented (PEKaya,Fidel). At the moment 1.0 mln UAH is invested.

  20. Investment Projects Cultivation and sale of roses, ornamental plants and vegetables. Initiator: LLC “TRIANA” Investment project focus: Construction of greenhouses for cultivation of roses, ornamental plants and vegetables using Dutch technology and the hydroponics method. Total amount of the required investment: 13, 000 000 EUR. Payback period: 3 years. Granite deposit development Initiator: Novoodeskiy Regional State Administration Investment project focus: Deposit develoрment,purchase of the required equipment Total amount of the required investment: 250 thousandUS dollars. Payback period: 3 years.

Investment Projects Production and bottling of the mineral water of “Ananievska” type Initiator: Novoodeskiy Regional State Administration Investment project focus: Production and bottling of mineral water Total amount of the required investment : 200 thousand US dollars. Payback period : 3 years. Combines assembly Initiator:LLC “AgroTekhServis” Investment project focus: “Gomselmash” combines assembly Total amount of the required investment: 300 thousand US dollars. Payback period : 2 years.

  22. Investment Projects Investment project focus : green tourism development Initiator: Novoodeskiy Regional State Administration. Total amount of the required investment : 100 thousand US dollars. Payback period: 2.5 years. Initiator: LLC“Novoodeskiy Elevator” Investment project focus: Processing of cereal crops, sunflowers. Flour, cereal and oil production. Total amount of the required investment: 200 thousand US dollars. Payback period: 2 years.
