  1. TW6-TSL-002 : ORE TBM OCCUPATIONAL RADIATION EXPOSURE

  2. TWO TYPES OF BREEDER BLANKET + Associated loops and components are concerned HCLL HCPB

  3. DR 5cm / 1m HCPB DR 5cm / 1m HCLL OCCUPATIONAL DOSE HCPB / HCLL OPERATIONAL, REPLACEMENT OR DECOMISSIONING MAIN OBJECTIVES

  4. ANALYSIS AND INTEGRATION OF GEOMETRY HCPB AND HCLL QUALITATIVE SPECIFIC ACTIVITY OF COMPONENTS QUANTITATIVE SPECIFIC ACTIVITY OF COMPONENTS SELECTION ACCORDING TO DOSIMETRY WEIGHT OF ACTIVATION PRODUCTS MAIN STEPS

  5. MICROSHIELD MCNP (not foreseen in this task) SIMPLE GEOMETRIES ONLY ONE RADIOACTIVE GEOMETRY COMPLEX GEOMETRIES MULTI RADIOACTIVE GEOMETRIES AVAILABLE DOSIMETRYCALCULATION TOOLS

  6. DOSIMETRYCALCULATION MICROSHIELD • Deterministic code • Definition of simple source geometry (sphere, cube, wall) • Only one radioactive source (including several radionuclides with all gamma rays of the selected nuclides) • Possible use of multi shields (with simple geometries) • Used by radiation protection groups at CEA • Output results: • Dose rate • Equivalent dose rate

  7. DR 5 cm / 1 m DR ß- 5 cm CHECK OF POTENTIAL IMPACT PREPARATION OF FIRST CALCULATIONS ON HCLL DR WITH ALREADY DEFINED SHIELDINGS

  8. DOSIMETRYCALCULATION • NEEDED DATA FOR HCLL: • GEOMETRIES (OK) • SPECIFIC ACTIVITY: NEW VALUES MUST BE PROVIDED (including dosimetric weights) • SAME DATA THAN LAST TASK • EXCEL FILE WITH ALL RN : • AT SHUTDOWN • 5 DAYS • 12 DAYS • 1 YEAR • FISPACT OUTPUT FILES COULD BE INTERESTING (with specific filter with 143 RNs)

  9. RADIOACTIVE SPECTRUM MUST BE DEFINED GEOMETRY DESCRIPTION DOCUMENTS MUST BE PROVIDED PREPARATION OF FIRST CALCULATION ON HCPB

  10. DOSIMETRYCALCULATION • NEEDED DATA FOR HCPB: • GEOMETRIES • SPECIFIC ACTIVITY: NEW VALUES MUST BE PROVIDED (including dosimetric weights) • SAME DATA THAN LAST YEAR • EXCEL FILE WITH ALL RN : • AT SHUTDOWN • 5 DAYS • 12 DAYS • 1 YEAR • FISPACT OUTPUT FILES COULD BE INTERESTING (with specific filter with 143 RNs)

  11. CONCLUSION • CALCULATIONS WILL ALLOW TO RESPOND TO SAFETY CONCERNS AS A CONSERVATIVE APPROACH IS USED • IT WILL GIVE AN INPUT DATA FOR DESIGN CHECK OF: • HOTCELLS AND RADWASTE, • TRANSPORT CASKS, … • HOWEVER FOR BOTH HCLL AND HCPB THE LEVEL OF ENVELOPS COULD BE DIFFERENT
