Tank Construction • - Improved internal tank construction to increase the domestic hot water capacity (insulated divider and new genomströmningsrör). • - New tank charging principle to reduce the need for the immersion heater and to increase the DHW capacity. • - High charging temperature from the heat pump (up to 67°C) enables a high DHW supply without the immersion heater. • - Up to 280 l 40°C @ 8l/min, (before: 125 l) without using the immersion heater. Conditions – Tank Charging Charging of the upper tank The DHW charging starts when the upper sensor goes below its set point (factory setting 55 ⁰C), and stops when the sensor reaches its set point. (factory setting 60 ⁰C). The mixing valve closes during the DHW charging, since it has a max Δ of 30 ⁰C. This ensures that the cold water return from the radiators doesn’t inhibit the DHW from reaching a sufficient temperature.   29. Conditions – Tank Charging • Charging of the lower tank • The same conditions as for the EcoHeat 3.0, i.e. starts at the primary flow set point (lower tank sensor) and stops at 5 ⁰C above. • When charging, the control system maintains a Δt of 7 ⁰C over the condenser.

Thermostatic versus electronic Expansion Valve • Thermostatic expansion valve: • - Optimized within a minor operation area, all other operating points • inside the envelope are “compromises”. • - Can not change its settings for different operation points • Electronic expansion valve: • - Can change its settings for any operating point, and continuously • supervises the refrigeration system.
