  3. Building to 1 Million 20% average for each LA = 1 million

  4. Why is it important to increase the turnout? • Gives you a powerful mandate • Legitimatise UKYP as the voice of young people • Evidence, evidence, evidence- of you consulting local young people • You can be the first group to give 1 million young people a voice

  5. 2014 1.6 million ballots were printed • 600 to every MYP/DMYP • 4000 to each LA (apart from IoS) • NI 40,000 • Scotland 1,000 to each LA • Wales 20,000 2015- printing 2 million. Working out now until summer- when based on the number of schools signed up and the potential of each LA

  7. Change in tactics Involving more young people- recruiting Make Your Mark Champions School Councils Youth Council D/MYPs

  8. To break the Million mark • Sign up more schools/colleges by 17th July - we’ll send ballot papers directly to them in Sept • Sign up Make Your Mark Champions- your youth council

  9. MYM Mission 1 Now – write to Director of Children’s Services. Asking for support to get school/colleges to register 8th May- write to your newly elected MP. Well done + Can you help sign the remaining schools? Youth Council- MYM as a Standing Agenda Item at every meeting. As them to: • go into their school/college and ask – how can I help with MYM here? • Register as a MYM Champion online

  10. D/MYPs= Local MYM Coordinators • Recruit and support Make Your Mark Champions by: • Youth Councillors- this now, and as a Standing Agenda Item until October • School Councillors- Youth Council to go to their school council
