Or is there a better way for you to be spending your time? • What's the difference between a teacher and a train? • MAD – Mutual Assured Destruction. A concept in nuclear planning. Goals – Review funny metaphor sentences from last Thursday. Discussion of mental cowards article. Analysis of value of education article. Homework – Complete analysis of “value" article.

  2. Senior English 9/10/13 • What are your habits of mind that help you be successful? Which of your habits may get in the way of your academic success? • Why do bees have sticky hair? • OAO – One and Only. Used in the naval Academy to refer to one’s sweetheart. Goals – Discuss how the articles we have been reading will affect the goals of this class. Analyze “Perils and Promise” article. Homework – Don’t forget to study for Vocab 2 on Friday. Complete a well thought out commentary about how you perceive your own habits of mind.

What is your strategy for starting writing tasks? • Why are frogs never upset? • SAPFU – Surpassing All Previous Foul Ups Goals – Discuss “Perils and Promise…”. Spice up your writing with descriptive detail and figurative language. Homework – Write an extended descriptive passage about a guy with too much swag or a “selfie.”

Senior English 9/12/13 • Which is more important kindness or fairness? • How do you make friends with a squirrel? • SUSFU – Situation Unchanged Still Fouled up Goals – Learn a little about appositives and how to use them. Practice writing appositives. Homework – Complete the constructing appositives exercise. Don’t forget to study for vocab.3 quiz tomorrow.
