  12. RESULTS @ 525nm

  13. RESULTS @ 680nm

  14. FINAL CONCLUSIONS • Perform further experiments with our device & pre-existing parts • THE RENBO could survive and express better than the composites it was made from. • The cold shock method @10°C affects growth directly, kills the cells. • Determine the relationship between gene expression, temperature and cold shock method

  15. FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS • CspA promoter (BBa_K328001) • OmpA + AoXenzyme • Nitrates biosensor (BBa_K381001)

  16. HUMAN PRACTICES IN SCIENCE We must ask ourselves and think about what really is "Human Practices" and why it is included on the iGEM competition. We know that is common that many teams participating on iGEM don’t include it on their projects. We decide to ask all of our team members why do you consider that the iGEM competition address “Human Practices” issues? The answers we got are really interesting, you can read them in our wiki.

  17. PROBLEMS

  18. OBJECTIVES

  19. This software is available in our wiki SB UTP 1.0 SB UTP 1.0 is an interactive and educational program that introduces Synthetic Biology and iGEM to the users.

  20. To know if our software was really introducing users to the basics of Synthetic Biology and iGEM, we made a virtual survey available at our wiki

  21. After collecting the answers that we receive, here are some significant samples: • As you can see, the average score of the users was 81.76%, which means that if it was a test, they would get a B. • In conclusion we can assure that our program really teaches the basics of Synthetic Biology and the iGEM competition.

  22. This software is available in our wiki SB UTP PROJECT 1.0

  23. At the end of every question of the program, you will find a website or a paper as reference about the topic. Our future objective for this software is that it will end as a data base, so that teams of any part of the world could use it and also add more information. Weexhortall of thefutureteamstocomplementthis software. This software is available in our wiki

  24. SYNBIO TOUR Synthetic Biology Tour with conferences, brochures, speeches and surveys.

  25. SURVEY’S RESULTS

  26. COMMUNITY BRICKS Community Bricks is an open source community of lesson plans and activity protocols that has as goal to change the way that we do outreach and address human practices at iGEM. We’ve also collaborated with the following teams in the development of Community Bricks: • Brown-Stanford • Arizona State • Cornell • Panama • UQ-Australia

  27. ALUMNI iGEM AlumniGEM is a new platform for connecting past, present and future members of iGEM. It has a forum where users can connect with each other and share every kind of information, especially about SynBio.

  28. TV INTERVIEW We were invited to the most popular TV Interview morning show called "TuMañana", we had the chance to communicate on national television what is SynBio and what we did on the iGEM Americas Regional Jamboree.

  29. ACCOMPLISHMENTS Significant improvement of the nitrate sensor under a cold shock stress. Obtention of positive results during the experimental characterization. The reflection of human practices in science. The creation of 2 softwares, one for the introduction of synbio and iGEM, and the other to guide new teams in the process of making synbio projects. Outreach: a synbio tour, community bricks, alumni iGEM, surveys, collaboration with other teams, and a national tv interview.
