  2. Meaning • "paleo" = old • "lithic" = stone • "neo" = new • "lithic" = stone

  3. Hunt or Farm??? Nomads were always moving. They followed their herds. People during the Neolithic Age domesticated plants and animals, so they did not have to move.

  4. Dwellings People during the Paleolithic age lived in mouths of caves, huts and skin tents. People in the Neolithic Age lived in mud brick homes supported by wood with walls, floors, and fortifications (towers, walls). There was community life.

  5. Permanent structures built? Paleolithic: The people didn’t stay in one place, so they didn’t have permanent structures. Neolithic: The people did stay in one place so they had structures like houses, cromlechs and dolmens.

  6. Tools Paleolithic tools were made out of chipped stone, wood or bone.(rasp, harpoon and knife) Neolithic tools were made out of polished stone. They also made baskets and clay pots. (scythe, pestle and mortar)

  7. Clothing Paleolithic: They used animal skins Neolithic: They used animal skins and woven cloth.

  8. Palaelotic Art Paleolithic: Cave paintings, sculptures, reliefs. Neolithic: Wall paintings, sculptures, reliefs.
