IB Diploma Magnet Program at RM • The IB Magnet Program at RMHS is entering its 22nd year. • 98% of the class of 2009 achieved the IB diploma - 110 students • RM students consistently score higher than world averages. • Average points earned by candidates completing the diploma: 35 • Highest diploma points awarded to a candidate: 43 • Average grade obtained at RM by candidates who earned the diploma: 5.44 • Number of subjects above worldwide averages: 24 out of 26 (most 1 point above).

IB Junior Time line October • IB Exam Registration – October 15th • IB Exam Payment - Payment in full (or first installment) is due in the IB Office with the registration form no later than October 15th • Group 4 Field Trip - October 13 • PSAT - October 14th • Extended Essay Lottery – October 21 • Submit CAS Updates November • Group 4 (Science) lab report – Due date varies by course. • Math SL and Math Studies IA pre-meeting – Mid November December • Submit CAS Updates • Group 4 (Science)presentations and symposium – December 15 • IB Exam Payment – Payment is due in the IB Office by December • Math SL Portfolio #1 – Mid December

Junior Time Line (cont) January • Math Studies Project – Mid January • Math SL Portfolio #2 – Mid January February • Submit CAS updates • Registration meeting for Seniors (2011) – February 4th • Extended Essay Research Proposal due – Feb 1st • Extended Essay Advisors assigned - January 19th • Extended Essay Expo - TBA • Foreign Language - Oral exams mid-February (date TBD) March /April • Submit CAS updates • IAs graded and samples submitted to IB • Predicted Grades sent to IB • Extended Essay Annotated Bibliography – March 17 • Music - Musical investigations are due the end of March (TBD) • Art - Garage Gallery opens March 22 • TOK 1 Presentations – April 12 – 16 • Extended Essay Research Question – April 28th

  6. Junior Time Line (cont) May • IB and AP Exams – Scheduled May 4 – May 22. AP dates on the IB calendar may be modified to avoid some IB conflicts. IB dates may not be changed. • Senior Celebration – May 27. June • Extended Essay Working Outline – June 2 • World Literature Paper 1 – TBA • College Search Meeting for 2011 – June 3 July • Results are available to IB students via the Worldwide Web. September • Extended Essay Draft 1 – September 7 October • Extended Essay Draft 2 – TBA November • Final Extended Essay due - TBA
