  1. International Projects 1) European projects (Marie-Martine Bé) 2) IFIN-HH – CEA-LNHB collaboration (Aurelian Luca) 3) Atomic fundamental parameters initiative (Marie-Christine Lépy) (This afternoon)

  2. International collaborations 1) European Research Projects Marie-Martine Bé CEA/LIST, LNE-LNHB

  3. Every year since 2008 the EU – through the European Commission and the countries participating within the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET e.V.) – launches calls for research projects in the general field of metrology: the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP). http://www.emrponline.eu For us, there is a “ionizing radiations” part which includes radioactivity and dosimetry. Each accepted project is for a three years duration and involve several European laboratories. We (LNHB, IFIN-HH, NPL, …) are involved in some of them. European Research Projects

  4. European Research Projects • International initiative on fundamental parameters • EMPR “Thin films” (Metrology for the manufacturing of thin films) • EMRP “TREND” (TRacable Characterisation of Nanostructured Devices) -> Measurement of atomic parameters for materials of interest for industry (new materials for photovoltaics, nanotechnologies…)

  5. 1) MetroFission, (Metrology for New Generation Nuclear Power Plants), September 2010  September 2013 WorkPackage 5 - Improved nuclear decay data (IRMM, CIEMAT, CEA-LNHB): - Measurement of the alpha-particle emission probabilities of 238U (IRMM, CIEMAT); - Development of beta spectrometry using cryogenic detectors (CEA-LNHB), measurement of the 241Pu and 63Ni beta spectra. MetroFission Web page: http://projects.npl.co.uk/metrofission/ - Dissemination of results: Nuclear Data Workshop, organized by IFIN-HH in June 2013 (probably 2 days at EC-JRC IRMM, Geel, Belgium) You are invited to participate in! Projects in progress

  6. 2) MetroRWM(Metrology for Radioactive Waste Management) October 2011  October 2014 WP5: Measurement of the half-life of: 166mHo, 129I, 151Sm (LNHB, PTB, CIEMAT, IRMM) - mass concentration measurements - activity concentration measurements We (PTB, LNHB, CIEMAT) are preparing the radioactive sample solutions http://www.radwaste-emrp.eu/ 3) MetroMRT(Metrology for Molecular RadioTherapy) June 2012  June 2015 WP1: Activity measurements for molecular radiotherapy (LNHB, ENEA, NPL) - Calculation of beta spectra (CEA, ENEA) - Development of an operational system for measuring beta spectra (cooled silicon detector, source and detector inside a vacuum enclosure), including data analysis program and the study of distortion processes due to detection (CEA, ENEA) - Experimental measurements of pure beta spectra (including Y-90, Sr-89) (CEA) Projects in progress

  7. MetroNORM, (Metrology for Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material) 2013 2016 WP1: Improvement of NORM related decay data (LNHB, CIEMAT, CMI, ENEA, IRMM, NPL) • Task 1.1.S1: Measurement of a and g- emission intensities in the decay of 226Ra (CIEMAT,CEA, JRC, CMI, ENEA) • Task 1.1.S2: Measurement of X and g- emission intensities in the decay of 210Pb (ENEA, CEA, CIEMAT, CMI) • Task 1.2.S1: Measurement of g- emission intensities in the decay of 235U (JRC, CIEMAT, CEA, CMI, ENEA) • Task 1.2.S2: Measurement of X and g- emission intensities occurring in the lower part of the235U chain 227Ac 207Pb (JRC, CEA, CIEMAT) • Task 1.4: Study of 138La decay (CEA, ENEA) Project submitted
