  2. How would you react if you came to know that India is home to 33 million children employed in different forms of labour? Yes, it is alarming to say the least. Sadly, very little efforts have been taken till date. Why is our economy this dependent on a workforce comprising of minors or why is it that the children are forced to let go of education? It is important to understand and figure out what is giving — way to child labour. Some of the issues are as follows: Poverty: India is a land that nestles people who cannot afford three square meals a day, education, shelter and a lot more. Stark poverty can be witnessed across the lanes of metros. With lower household income, people tend to depend on their children at a very young age for earning. For basic necessities, families tend to get their children employed in miscellaneous jobs. Lack of education and goals: People do not prioritize education and as a result, they never aim at white collar jobs. Since education and goals, both have least place in their plans, the dependency is automatically on the younger ones. Often people feel, more the children, more income. So, education never comes into picture. Going for menial jobs is one of the most common choices. Convert webpages or entire websites to PDF - PDFmyURL!

  3. common choices. Requirement of unskilled labourers: Children are often seen as cheaper resources and a lot of unethical employers see them as their prime choices. This also increases their margin of profits and thus, people end up favoring this kind of labour in all respect. Making younger ones exposed to factory environments and other hazards leaves them with diseases and malnutrition. This also contributes to child abuse in India. Lack of literacy, orthodox views and absence of aims, altogether make people from underprivileged sector resort to labour of all kinds. In this scenario, minimum efforts are put to eliminate it totally. But, life is all about never giving up. Several NGOs are working hard to give happy childhoods to the children. One of the most prominent organisations that is working hard to help children is Child Rights and You.
