Readings and Groups • YOU WILL BE ASKED TO READ (IN GROUPS OF 5 PEOPLE EACH) A PAPER/ARTICLE/CHAPTER BOOK ON A PARTICULAR ASPECT OF THE CULTURES/CIVILIZATIONS WE ARE DEALING WITH IN CLASS • YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PRESENT AND DISCUSS THE READING IN CLASS AND COMPARE AND CONTRAST IT WITH THE OTHER GROUPS’ READINGS. • A QUIZ WILL BE GIVEN ON EACH READING SESSION A WEEK LATER (7 PTS X 5 QUIZES= 35 POINTS) • READINGS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MY WEB SITE

IMPORTANT • ALL THE GROUPS’ MEMBERS ARE BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE READING (i.e. IT CANNOT BE THAT ONE OF YOU READ AND THE OTHERS SIT ON THEIR AXX) AS I WILL BE ASKING SHORT QUESTIONS TO EACH MEMBER OF THE GROUP TO CHECK IF THEY HAD ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD. • QUIZES ARE GOING TO BE ABOUT THE READINGS AND THE IN CLASS DISCUSSION ON THEM (i.e. TAKE NOTES OR NO POINTS) • 1ST QUIZ ON TODAY’S CLASS + NEXT WEEK READING (TO BE UPLOADED OVER THE WEEKEND AND TO BE DISCUSSED ON WEDNESDAY 18 MARCH)
