An Olympic Sport…with Olympic Ambition • What is your Handball ambition? • It Might Be: • Professional Handball Player • International Handball Player • World Class Coach • A National League/International Referee • A National Team /Club Physio • A Children’s /Youth Coach • A Handball Development Officer Whatever it is, AASE will support your development!

  3. What is AASE? • A NVQ3 Qualification in Sporting Excellence • Endorsed by top sports Universities eg. Loughborough and Carnegie • Enhancement of Life skills such as resilience, prioritisation, time management, • Fits around and complements BTEC study and A-levels • Gives you access to the best coaches, mentors and support staff in the UK and abroad • Dedicated support for your athletic development and education • A chance to influence the future of the London 2012’s number 1 legacy sport

What is AASE? • AASE is an NVQ3 which will develop your ability to plan, implement, review and progress in eight key areas (or modules) : • Technical skills • Tactical skills • Physical conditioning • Attitudes and mental skills necessary for excellent performance • Your own lifestyle • Your sporting career • Communication and working effectively with others • Maintaining the health and safety of yourself and others

  5. What must I do? • Learn to Live the Life of a elite athlete • Keep a record (e-portfolio ) of evidence of your work • Apply 16 weekly in a combination of home, club and self directed training and athlete education

  6. Who will help me?Dedicated Support for the Athletes’ Qualification • AASE Manager • Assessor/Mentor • A team of tutors to deliver the 8 Modules

  7. Dedicated Support for the Athletes’ Sports’ Career • All AASE Athletes: • Complete and L2 Coaching and Refereeing Qualifications • Are supported and encouraged to investigate their Sporting Career Options • Where possible , will be supported in additional CPD in eg Sports Therapy, First Aid • Will event manage and officiate EHA Younger Age competitions • Can begin their coaching careers within their home club

Dedicated Support for the Athletes’ Playing Career • The AASE programme combines training home and abroad to make you the best handball player you can be. • Committed Club coaches based in England. • Full Time Sports Scientist • A team of Interns covering Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Performance Analysis • Training camps in England and Abroad • First Class Strength and conditioning facilities and support with Chester University and Warrington Wolves RFLC
