RISE OF AMERICAN LAWPRODUCT OVERVIEW • A compilation of out-of-print secondary law texts designed for legal scholars and historical researchers • A DVD collection of PDF images • Full text documents on Westlaw • Contains over 1,700 volumes (400 titles) • Includes titles from the following West publishers

RISE OF AMERICAN LAW • Covers a period from 1820 – 1970 • The bulk of the collection is circa 1920s and 1930s • a watershed period in American legal history • And an important time in the history of legal publishing • The birth of large multi-topic, multi-jurisdiction sets • Reveals the origins of many legal topics that arose in the late 19th and early 20th C

  6. IMPORTANT UPGRADES • Cassidy Cataloguing has recently upgraded this record set by adding URLs that link to the Westlaw.com version of each title, instead of the DVD version of the same data.

CURRENT PLANS • Primary sources, Federal and State, are being migrated first. • MARC21 catalog records for statutes, case law, digests, and administrative agency reports will be upgraded first. • We believe the e-treatise records and the e-periodical records will require the least amount of conversion work – probably just an additional URL for the WestlawNext platform. • Statutes, for example, are undergoing a content re-organization. • Annual files are being re-grouped as • Current • Historical
