  1. Tips To Decorate The Cake Whenever it comes to celebrating a milestone, birthday, anniversary, or any other achievement, the event can’t be completed without the presence of a beautiful cake. Regardless of which part of the world you live in, cake holds a pivotal role in the celebration of any event or milestone. A simple cake may fail to impress the people who are at the event to celebrate a milestone. Therefore, you need to decorate the cake in such a way that it reflects your happiness and celebrations. You need some basic topper cake decorationsto make it suitable for celebrations of any anniversary or achievement. We have gathered some tips to help you decorate the cake you are using casually or preparing to celebrate a milestone or achievement. These tips are really easy to follow and don’t make a hole in your pocket anyway. Further details are given below: Gather the Necessary Tools: Having the necessary set of tools to make your work easier is very important before you jump into any task even if it is as simple as decorating a cake. You don’t need a whole arsenal to decorate your cake, these are just some simple tools that are most probably already present in your home but you need to gather them at one place before you commence your cake decoration work. You need a rotating cake turntable, a serrated cake or bread knife, an offset palette knife, a pastry bag with tips, and a cake smoother or scrapper, whatever you call it. As mentioned earlier these tools will make your cake decoration job way easier, similarly, a rotating cake turntable is not an absolutely essential item you need but with this turntable, you don’t have to change your position every now and then. You will need a serrated cake knife to level and split layers of cake with ease. An offset palette knife will help you apply frosting without covering all your fingers with frosting. The pastry bag with tips will help you make outlines with icing, and the cake smoother will prove to be handy while smoothing the frosting and making decorative patterns on the cake. Make Sure You Apply the Crumb Coating: While frosting the cake, you initiate the process with the application of a crumb coat first before properly frosting it. The crumb coat is a lighter coat of frosting that will seal the cake and bind the crumbs

This will prove to be useful when you actually start applying the final coat of frosting on the cake, this will help you keep crumbs away from the final coat of frosting for a neat and tidy appearance of the cake. In case, if you are making a cake with layers, it is better to position the bottom layer first on the turntable or any other surface and apply a layer of frosting on the bottom layer of the cake and then place the layer that comes above in the bottom side up manner. Once you have done this, apply the crumb coat on all the layers of the cake and then start spreading the final coat of frosting to the whole cake.
