  1. EHS Student Congress

  2. What is it? • Student Congress is a group of students who meet regularly to advise the administration, counselors, and ASB about issues of concern on campus. • They primarily discuss three broad issues: facilities, academics, and school culture. • The idea behind Congress is to make sure all voices on campus are heard!

  3. What are some things Congress has done in the past? • Student concerns about the condition of the bathrooms led to increased cleaning, more security, and making sure amenities such as toilet seat covers, feminine hygiene products, and soap are stocked regularly. • Student concerns about cafeteria food led to a taste-testing of different items provided by food services staff, several of which were added to the school menu.

  4. Who serves on Congress? • Now that we have Advisory, one member of each Advisory class will be selected to serve as the representative of their class. • This person’s responsibilities will include attending meetings at lunch, reporting back to the advisory class about what was discussed, and gathering input about what to discuss in future Congress meetings.

  5. First meeting is today! • Representative should report to library at lunch.

  6. One more thing. . . Back to School Night is next week, September 4th, from 6-8 PM. Join us in kicking off a great 2019-2020 school year!
