  1. Diagnóstico de Ambliopía • Realizar un examen oftalmológico completo antes de los 6 meses de edad • Si todo está bien, hacer otro a los 2 años y luego cada 1-2 años. • SOSPÉCHELO

  3. Tratamiento • Determinar la causa del problema, lo más pronto posible. Para esto, el médico general y/o el pediatra deben sospecharla.

  4. Tratamiento • Corregirla con los medios necesarios, lo más pronto posible luego de establecido el diagnóstico.

  6. Tratamiento • Forzar la visión (aprendizaje a nivel de la corteza cerebral visual) para estimular las vías neuronales del ojo afectado. Esto tiene un límite de tiempo por la maduración y “cierre” de las conexiones neuronales de la corteza (entre los 3 y los 7 años).

  7. Tratamiento • Contar con el entendimiento y apoyo de los padres, maestros, pediatra y/o médico de cabecera.
