Pre-Test True or False • When arriving at an interview you should be sure to be wearing your cell phone ear piece incase you get an important call. • It is important to smell nice for an interview by putting on some extra perfume or cologne • It is beneficial to research a companies dress code and use it as a guideline on what to wear to the interview • Tattoos are ok to flaunt at an interview, especially if it is a neat one!

  3. First Impressions Employers start judging you before you can even say hello. They judge you based on how you look and what you are wearing. So if you really want the job do your homework!

  4. What do Others Wear? If the job you are applying for doesn’t require a uniform or very casual dress code try to find out what others in the company wear. If the job you are applying for does require a uniform or very casual dress code, be sure to ignore thisfor the interview and dress to impress

  5. Starting at the Top • Wash, dry and brush your hair • Remove all hats or headgear of any sort • This includes headphones, ear buds, or Bluetooth devices • Apply minimal make-up • Brush your teeth!

  6. What to Wear Men: • Suit (solid color – navy or grey) • Long Sleeve button up shirt • Tie • Belt • Dark Socks • Little or no jewelry • Little or no cologne • Clean shaven

  16. Business Attire Collage On your flash drive in the classwork folder > create a folder called Business Attire. Open a browser an collect images of appropriate business dress for your gender. Save these images in your Business Attire folder. Once you have a good collection of images (include shoes, accessories, etc.), navigate to http://www.befunky.com You will use this online collage maker to develop a collage of appropriate business dress using the images you have saved. When finished, save the image to your computer in the Business Attire folder as Business Attire.

What type of attire do you think would be appropriate to wear to an interview? • Write at least 5 things to consider when dressing for an interview based on the presentation.
