  2. S.S.R. Please read silently for 1o minutes. Silently If you do not have a book, please grab a magazine (Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Game Informer, People, Car and Driver, etc.) We will be back in the Library Media Center on Friday for a book exchange/activity in the media lab.

  3. DO NOW Grades (Reminder): • ALL DO NOW assignments will count as a grade. This grade is only based on participation. You will get 5 points for each DO NOW activity throughout the semester. (approx. 25 points per week) • Please leave your DO NOW response (your paper) in your student folder each day.

Do Now: CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS AND WRITE A SHORT RESPONSE (7-10 sentences) Have you ever had a dream where upon waking up, you experienced a moment of confusion because the dream felt 100% real? Write a personal response describing what happened, focusing on your feelings after waking up – describe the confusion. If you had to lose one sense, but had the choice of which sense you were going to lose, which sense would you pick? Why? Aesthetics • Aesthetics: The philosophy of the nature of beauty. • Based on our senses, based on how we perceive the world around us. • How we evaluate, judge, critique, analyze, and respond to…pretty much everything; art, literature, music, etc. • Perception is created by our senses. • Aesthetics is how we define what is beautiful, what is “good”, what is worth preserving, and what is a masterpiece.
