  10. Plot summary • In the Second age of middle-earth, sauron creates the one ring in order to conquer the land. In a battle on the foor of mount doom, the son of king elendil slays sauron with his father’s borken sword. Sauron is physically dead, but is not fully defeated until the one ring is destroyed. Years later, after many “owners” the ring is found by Bilbo baggins

  11. Plot summary • Following his 111th birthday party, bilbo passes the one ring down to frodo. Gandalf the grey rides to minas tirith to search for answers regarding bilbo’s magic ring. He learns it is the one ring, forged by sauron, and journeys back to tell frodo to leave the shire, and meet him in bree. Along the way frodo meets up with sam, Merry, an Pippin. Upon arrival in bree, they find gandalfhas not arrived, and meet a man named strider.

  12. Plot summary • Strider offers to lead them to rivendell. They spend the night on a hill of weathertop, where they are attacked by some ringwraiths. Frodo is struck by a morgul blade and must be treated before he turns into a ringwraith. Fordo is taken to rivendell and healed by father elrond. In rivendellfrodo comes across gandalf, who explains why he did not meet them at bree.

  13. Plot summary • The fellowship tries to pass through the caradhras mountains, but are stopped by saruman. They meet up with gimili, and he leads them through the mines of moria. They are attacked by orcs and a cave troll, defeat them, then stop for rest. Frodo speaks with galadriel, who tells him it is his destiny to destroy the ring. They start heading to mordor to destroy it, and encounter an army of uruk-hai. Everyone stops to hold them off and let frodo escape. Merry and pippin are captured, and sam runs off to find frodo. He eventually does and frodo reluctantly agrees to let him tag along. Gimli, legolas and aragorn go to save merry and pippin, while sam and frodo set out to destroy the ring

  14. critique I thought the book was awesome J.r.r. tolkien created a whole world. I thought the creativity and though behind the world and story are amazing. I would not change anything
