  3. Interpersonal Skills • Be pleasant and courteous • Do your share of the work, and respect others for the work that they do • Show you are responsible by completing your assigned tasks. Look for ways to help your coworkers if you have the time • Use good communication skills. Avoid gossip, and learn to control your emotions. If you get angry, find a way to cool down

  4. Interpersonal Skills • Learn from your mistakes and accept any criticism that might come your way. If you do something wrong, don’t try to hide it from your supervisor. Admit your error, and ask how to correct the situation • Avoid confrontation with other coworkers

  5. Interpersonal Skills • Be enthusiastic and show an interest in your work • Cooperate with your coworkers and set a good example • Keep an open mind, and listen to new ideas

  6. Develop a Work Ethic • A standard of conduct for job performance • Give an honest day’s work for pay • Be fair • Do the job correctly

  7. Communication • Written • Verbal • Non-verbal • Face-to-face • Phone calls • Letters • Email

  8. Dress to Impress • Follow the company’s dress code • Wear clothing appropriate clothing • Dress professional

  9. Calling In • If you are sick, make sure to call into to your supervisor and let them know what is going on

  10. Diversity • Allowing employees to participate in religious practices and holidays • Not discriminating based on age, gender, race, or religion
