  17. Lessons Learned 1 • buy-in from senior management • involve tutors - giving a “sense of joint ownership.” • significant amount of time is required to administer the site and provide users with the necessary support” • use proven technology

Lessons Learned 2 • “identify which community groups have easy access to the Internet.” • “we should not assume that learners understand the very basics of passwords etc” and ensure mechanisms are set up for this very general level of support. • effort needed to maintain chat forums. • One found it more effective to replace the platform with a blog.
