  2. Article/Videos • Numbers are increasing and people/organizations are starting to take notice of it. • There is a lot of programs, grants, and community support for homeless children but the efforts and resources are still not enough. • What’s saddening is that children are the most affected when they have the least amount control over their situation.

  3. Fly away home • The book made us realize the saddening affects of homeless and the resulting anger that the individuals face from their situation. • It was inspirational hearing this story from a child’s perspective. • We all learned that homeless does not necessarily mean jobless.

  4. How to steal a dog • The book brought awareness of stereotyping our students without considering their circumstances at home. • Inner conflict between doing what’s subconsciously right and what’s motivationally wrong. • Awareness of stress parents/guardians experience trying to stay positive in such a negative situation.

  5. Guest speakers • The speakers brought awareness to different situations of homelessness. • As an educator it reminded us that we can not judge a situation on appearances. • Made us aware of the lack of resources to offer students a positive working area. • The impact we can make to our community with donations. • Making sure we take the proper steps in our service learning plans.
