Thule News: Instruments and Research Upgrades in New Facility

Thule relocated to a new building in August 2011, 1.5km away on South Mountain. The facility houses advanced instruments for research, including UV spectro-radiometer, Sun photometer, Aerosol LIDAR, and more. The data collected, such as O3 profiles, reveal the impact of the 2011 Arctic Winter/Spring vortex on O3 loss over Thule. Observations show temperature and species variations inside and outside the vortex, with significant findings from previous years.
