  1. Oceania Regional Contingency Plan (ORCP) Status update: Chris Curatilo, PM ERRG, Inc.

Purpose • Fulfill the requirements of the NCP under 40 CFR 300 for each region • Link together Area Contingency Plans • Compliment or work in coordination with all other plans • Target audiences are: Area Commands, geographical gaps between plans, agency executives, etc… • Broader agency MOU’s, Policies

  3. contents • NRS coordination • Policy Letters: High Seas, National Response, Multiple RP spills, etc… • Compliance Guidelines: ESA, Historic Preservation, etc… • Committees • A.R.T. , S.M.A.R.T. protocols • SONS or IONS protocols • ICS

  4. Current State • ORCP started back in mid ’90’s • Remains unsigned / unexercised • Approximately 170 pages • 25 appendixes (not currently with plan but many available) • One round of reviews completed

  5. Moving forward • Page by page review completed • Developed ORCP Action plan (Excel) • Identified experts for specific sections • Distributed work already • More to be distributed / reviewed / merged into plan

  6. End State • Have the plan ready for signature by Co-Chairs by early November 2008 • Exercise the plan • Focus on developing all the appendixes in 2009
