  2. SUBIECTE DIFERITE+ Past Simple pentru actiuni referitoare la prezent Situatie: My daughter doesn’t help me with the housework. I would rather (I’d rather) she helped me. Situatie: He watches TV all day long. His wife would rather he didn’t watch TV all day long and help her a little.

SUBIECTE DIFERITE+ Past Perfect pentru actiuni referitoare la trecut • Situatie: Her friend didn’t arrive on time and they were late at the party. • She would rather her friend had arrived on time. • Situatie: Jenny got a poor mark and her mother was very angry. • Jenny’s mother would rather her daughter had learned more.
