  2. Aim The aim of this course is for participants to: familiarise themselves with how to access and use a range of resources so that they can plan effective embedded LLN activities that are engaging and meaningful.

Learning objectives By the end of the session you will have: learned how to adapt resources so that they are differentiated appropriately for your learners’ needs accessed and used a range of materials for improving learners’ LLN skills within their vocational or other contexts accessed resources effectively to plan one element of a lesson reflected on your own practice and how to improve it

  5. Embedded teaching and learning ‘Embedded teaching and learning combines the development of literacy, language and numeracy with vocational and other skills. The skills acquired provide learners with the confidence, competence and motivation necessary for them to succeed in qualifications, in life and at work.’

  11. Adapting resources for learners Ideas for adapting resources for: a learner who requires active methods of learning a learner with poor reading skills (Entry 2) a learner who has problems with short term memory

  12. Differentiation Learners differ because of their: learning history, background, interests, goals learning style skills – see assessment results and ILPs. Teachers can respond by adjusting: lesson content, activities, resources time allowed outcomes expected help given.
