plant cells are unique
Plant Cells are Unique!!!
  • Plant cells have chloroplasts used during photosynthesis.
  • Plants have a cell wall composed of cellulose located outside the cell membrane.
water transport
Water Transport
  • The major source of water transport in plants is provided by the evaporation of water from leaves during transpiration.
    • When water is lost from the leaves, more water is pulled upward from the roots.
structure of flowers
Structure of Flowers
  • Flowers are reproductive organs of plants

Male Part: Stamen

  • Anther – produces pollen (sperm)
  • Filament - long, thin stalk that supports the anther

Female Part: Pistils

  • Ovary – broad base that contains one or more ovules
  • Style – narrow stalk of the pistil
  • Stigma – sticky portion at the top of the style where pollen grains typically land
