  4. Tiger Paws Awarded • 3 Paws awarded Daily • 1 for Mrs. Clark • 1 for Mrs. Stanford • 1 for Activity • Spending Paws are like spending an allowance.

  5. Consequences BEHAVIOR BINDER Warnings are given 1st check: Walking Recess or silent lunch 2nd check: silent lunch AND Walking recess 3rd check: SL/WR and call home 4th offense: disciplinary referral *Physical contact, bad language, etc… will be handled quickly.

  6. BOYS Shirts should be tucked in at all times. Belts should be worn unless pants have elastic waste (ex. Gym shorts) *Jacket or sweater may be needed in the classroom. GIRLS Shorts and skirts are no shorter than two inches above the knee. Shirts should cover mid-drift and no spaghetti straps (two adult fingers width) Dress Code

  7. Tests We strive for higher level thinking! Students must pay attention in class and STUDY for tests in order to do well. Common Core is not easy! *daily and weekly quizzes; projects!!! *check website and agendas for test/quiz dates

  8. Organization Organization is key for your child’s success! Student’s will do a lot of independent studying for tests this year. Organization helps them and YOU. *science binder *reading notebook and writing notebook

  9. Homework Homework will go home every Friday and is due the following Thursday. Students start off with a 100 at the beginning of every 9 weeks and 10 points is deducted every week homework is not turned in. Signed Papers will go home on Thursday and the homework for Thursday is to get papers signed and returned by Friday.

  10.  40 Book Challenge • Read 40 books by the end of the school year. • 1st Semester by December 2014 – Read and show evidence for 20 books (THIS IS A GRADE) • Evidence – 2 pieces of your choice that have been approved by teacher • Books – Use the 40 Book Challenge Genre Grid • Must be read THIS school year beginning in August 2014…do NOT use books from previous years • On your reading level • Specific genres listed on grid • Chapter books • All non-fiction counts as 1 book • Up to 200 pages = 1 book • 201 or more pages (excluding illustrations) = 2 books • 2nd Semester by May 2015 - Read and show evidence for 20 more books (THIS IS ANOTHER GRADE) • TOTAL at YEAR END of 40 BOOKS & EVIDENCE

Absences • Student must be at school for at least 63% of academic class time. • If students must check out, please return to school for afternoon classes. • Students will not receive their Tiger Paws when absent or early checkout. Ex: If you are Tardy… you must be here by 9:55. If you check out… you must be here until 12:30.

  16. Parent Portal (Powerschool) You may check your child’s grades here. Grades will be posted weekly.
