Purpose and Objective • Collectively understand the opportunities available • Coordinate our strategic approach • Maximize our region’s success FDOT D5; MetroPlan Orlando, Space Coast TPO, Volusia TPO, Ocala/Marion County TPO, Lake~Sumter MPO; LYNX, VOTRAN, Space Coast Area Transit, Sumter County Transit, Lake Xpress, Counties of Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia; East Central Florida Regional Planning Council; and all Cities in D5.

Applications Submitted to Date State of Good Repair…intended to contribute to the improvement of the condition of transit capital assets by providing financial assistance for recapitalization of buses and bus facilities. Livability AA…to assist potential sponsors of New Starts and Small Starts projects in the evaluation of all reasonable modal and multimodal alternatives and general alignment options to address transportation needs in a defined travel corridor. Livability Bus/Bus Facility…makes funds available to public transportation providers to finance capital projects to replace, rehabilitate, and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities.

  7. Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program HUD…supports metropolitan and multijurisdictional planning efforts that integrate housing, land use, economic and workforce development, transportation, and infrastructure investments.

Over the Road Bus Accessibility Program FTA…to improve mobility and ensuring that the transportation system is accessible, integrated, and efficient, and offers flexibility of choices… projects will improve mobility for individuals with disabilities by providing financial assistance to help make vehicles accessible and training to ensure that drivers and others are properly trained to use accessibility features as well as how to treat patrons with disabilities.

Veteran’s Transportation and Community Living Initiative FTA…will help communities build or expand local One-Call/One-Click Centers to bring together transportation services available to the general public with those available to customers of human services programs, and especially services for veterans and military families.

Updates on Grants Coordination • Sustainability Initiative – TIGGER • No projects to be submitted. • Sustainability Initiative - Clean Fuels • Request for hybrid buses and articulated buses (LYNX) • HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant • Developing regional partnerships between transit providers and communities with committed commuter rail stations (ECFRPC) •  A. improve transit, bicycle and pedestrian connectivity; • B. reinvigorate minority or low income neighborhoods; • C. provide affordable housing adjacent to Central Florida’s new SunRail stations; • D. create a multi modal corridor of regional commerce and sustainable urban development; • E. increase regional economic competitiveness

Updates on Grants Coordination • TIGER III • FDOT Statewide Applications (3) • SunRail Collection of Circulators – Lake Nona/Medical City, Longwood, Lake Mary, DeLand, Orange City, Debary, Kissimmee (streetcar), FlexBus for Altamonte Springs and Casselberry. Tie this in with Quite Zones project idea. • Regional Pedestrian Safety Project - All Counties and Cities in MetroPlan Orlando area, extended to Volusia County area as well. • Regional Rails to Trails – 21 miles of St John’s to Sea Loop. Space Coast TPO, Volusia TPO, Brevard County, City of Titusville, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council - ECFRPC • Rebuilding of Orange Avenue with underground utilities – City of Daytona Beach • Minneola Interchange – Lake Sumter MPO, City of Minneola, FL Turnpike.
