To Treat Others As He Did • His Life – Our Example for Treating Others • First started with His heart—full of compassion • “Compassion” from Greek splanchnizomai • “to be moved as to one’s inwards, to be moved with compassion, to yearn with compassion” (Vine) • “to feel deeply” in one’s “bowels” (Zodhiates) • “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7). • Compassion for physical infirmities • The hungry (Matt. 15:32-38) • The blind (Matt. 20:29-34) • The leper (Mark 1:40-45) • The grieving (Luke 7:11-17; John 11:28-44)

To Treat Others As He Did • His Life – Our Example for Treating Others • First started with His heart—full of compassion • Compassion for physical infirmities • Compassion for spiritual infirmities • Giving direction to those who had none (Matt. 9:35-36) • Providing needed “nourishment” (Mt. 14:13-14; Mk. 6:34) • Treating all with respect & as a friend (Luke 7:36-50) • Kindness toward “worthless outcasts” (John 4:3-42) • Helping sinners & hypocrites to refocus (John 8:2-11) • Demonstrating love for children (Mark 10:13-16) • Always, always proclaiming truth (Matt. 11:20-24) • Awakening hypocrites to sinful condition (Matt. 23:1-39) • To be like Him, we must treat others as He did! Desiring for all to be SAVED!

To Teach As He Did • His Message • Characteristics of His message: • Originated with God (John 6:38; 8:28; 12:48) • Consistent with His mission/purpose (Luke 19:10) • Designed to change people for the better & prepare them for eternity (John 14:1-15) • Needed by all (Matt. 28:19; Mk. 16:15; Lk. 24:47) • Vital to life now & eternally (Jn. 10:10; 6:63, 53-54) • Pertaining to the whole of man (Matt. 5:2-12) • Filled with challenges (Matt. 11:28-30; 16:24-26) • Demanded a response (Matt. 4:17) • To be like Him, we must teach as He did!

To Teach As He Did • His Message • Content of His message: • God’s Word (John 12:49-50) • Man has a soul (Matt. 16:26) • Man’s soul will spend eternity somewhere (Mt. 25) • Seriousness of sin – leads to death (John 8:24) • The need for forgiveness (Luke 24:47) • Must be in Christ & Christ in you (John 14:23; 15:7) • Not everyone shall enter heaven (Matt. 7:21-23) • Must seek God & His kingdom first (Matt. 6:33) • Must travel the narrow way (Matt. 7:13-14) • Must believe in Him or die (John 8:24)

To Teach As He Did • His Message • Content of His message: • Must repent or perish (Luke 13:3) • Must confess Him or be denied (Matt. 10:32-33) • Must be baptized or cannot enter kingdom (Jn. 3:5) • He came to build His church (Matt. 16:18) • His kingdom is the church (Matt. 16:18-19) • If not of God shall be rooted up (Matt. 15:13) • Be faithful unto death (Rev. 2:10) • Live godly, exemplary lives (Matt. 5:13-16) • Teach others the gospel (Mark 16:15-16) • To be like Him, we must teach as He did!
