  2. EDCM Progress CMG and individual DNO workshops held Strong and varied response to consultation Ofgem decision published on EDCM boundary (lowered boundary) Licence modification proposed re. boundary DNOs working to identify affected customers Several outstanding issues still to be resolved Submission deadline – 1 September 2010 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 2

  3. WSA Update Progress so far: ‘Working Draft’ LRIC / FCP Methodology Statements and Implementation and Guidance Notes were produced in May: to accompany recent consultation published on the ENA’s Structure of Charges website 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 3

  4. WSA Update (cont.) Improvements incorporated in published ‘working drafts’: LRIC Improvements Revised modelling of generation in the minimum demand scenario ‘Sense checking’ of powerflows derived from application of security factors FCP Improvements Revised generation analysis – increases the number of locations that a Test Size Generator is applied (increasing the extent of network ‘tested’) ‘Sense checking’ of TSG sizes 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 3

  5. WSA Update (cont.) Further improvements being developed: LRIC Improvements: ‘Sense checking’ of cost recovery for each branch within the powerflow analysis FCP Improvements: Revision to the FCP generation formula to ensure suitability for accumulation of charges through the network groups 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 5

  6. WSB consultation EDCM consultation issued 18 June 2010 Full set of illustrative tariffs for all companies published Models for all companies sent to Ofgem More than 30 responses 400+ individual comments Wide range of contrasting views 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 6

  7. WSB workshop EDCM consultation workshop held in London on 28 June 2010 Over 50 attendees Suppliers, generators, customers, IDNOs Opportunity to ask questions about WSA and WSB work and to raise concerns In addition, DNOs held local workshops 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 7

  8. WSB current work Improve demand scaling option 14 Reduce the weight of agreed import capacity and encourage demand side management Develop new options for generation scaling Use a revenue target Could be scaling up or down Decisions on LDNOs and offshore networks Assessment of EDCM volatility 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 8

  9. WSB next steps Issue summary of EDCM consultation responses Collate data for HVS customers following Ofgem’s decision on the boundary Prepare documentation for submission to Ofgem by 1 September 2010 Complete work on CDCM generation-dominated areas 3 August 2010 energynetworks.org 9

  10. WSC current work CDCM Assessment of Volatility Review User Guide & submit into DCUSA Publish 5 year models Publish tariff scenarios Develop & Implement initiatives to improve predictability EDCM Assessment of volatility for September submission 3 June 2010 energynetworks.org 10
