HTTPS://COCHE-DURY.COM/ INTRODUCTION The story of Domaine Coche-Dury dates to the 1920s when Léon Coche acquired several already established vineyards, bottling his own wine from part of the harvest and selling the remainder to wine traders. While, today, about three-quarters of the fruit is domaine produced and bottled, the house carries on this age-old tradition with a portion of each harvest earmarked for some of the biggest names in Burgundy winemaking like Louis Latour and Louis Jadot. To date, the domaine maintains this ratio, adamant that if it vinifies all its fruit, it could alter the delicate and precise winemaking ecosystem on which Coche-Dury has built its reputation.

3. HTTPS://COCHE-DURY.COM/ ABOUT Léon's son, Georges, took over in 1964 and focused on adding more vineyards to its possessions in tandem with selling more domaine-bottled wine. However, the domaine began to create a unique identity with next-generation winemaker, Jean-François Coche who, after learning the trade alongside his father as a teenager, took the helm in 1973. Two years later, after marriage to Odile Dury, daughter of another local wine-growing family, the vineyard area expanded under the domaine's new name: Domaine Coche-Dury.

Encouraging a unique sense of place to shine through in every bottle is behind the philosophy across both Domaine Coche-Dury's approach in the vineyard and winery. Raphaël and Charline Coche, like Jean-François and Odile before them, firmly believe in being present in the vineyard from dawn until dusk during the growing season. Working diligently alongside the hired hands is the reason for the domaine's exceptional quality of fruit, and in turn, balanced, refined wines. The estate's old vines range from 50 to 90 years old, ensuring top-tier grapes. The domaine places great importance on pruning before the growing season to control the quantity and, therefore, ensure a good quality harvest.
