  2. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) • 50% of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) funding in August 2013, 50% in October 2013 • English language arts, literacy, and mathematics - $1.25 billion statewide in one-time funds • $200 per CBED enrollment

  3. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) • Professional Development • Instructional materials and supplemental instructional materials aligned to the CCSS academic content standards • Technology • August 16 – Educational Services Division (Framing our planning) • September 12 – Presentation to the Board – process and scope of plan

  4. Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) • Several revisions have increased the district’s projected LCFF funding by approximately $590,000 since June Budget • Changes still ongoing • Revisions to be submitted at First Interim

  5. Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) • By July 1, 2014, district must adopt LCAP using template adopted by State Board • 3 years – updated July 1 of each year • Must include: • Annual goals for all students and each subgroup for each state priority • Specific district actions to correct any deficiencies

  6. LCAP – State Priorities • Teachers fully credentialed in subject areas • Sufficient instructional materials • Facilities in good repair • CCSS • Parental Involvement • Student Achievement (7 measurements) • Student Engagement(Attendance/Absenteeism/Dropout/Graduation Rates) • School Climate(Suspension/Expulsion Rates, Surveys)

  7. Mandated Block Grant Increased from $47/ADA to $56/ADA An Approximate increase of $140,000 since the June budget adoption Deadline to declare option is 8/30/13 Application has been completed

  8. Proposition 39 $825,000 per year for 5 years; 85% per ADA + 15% free & reduced CDE to have calculations to all Districts by September 2013 and will post online when complete California Energy Commission to provide specific guidelines for use & reporting. Draft guidelines TBD. Districts advised not to commit until guidelines released
