  1. Service Oriented Atmospheric Radiance(SOAR) PI Milton Halem UMBC Web Services for On-Demand Multi-Sensor Gridded Atmospheric Radiance Fields FYQ4 Performance/accomplishments:- Developed and implemented v1.0 SOA based production system based on lessons-learned from prototype - Enhanced infrastructure: Installed additional 2GB disk storage on UMBC cluster bringing capability to 4GB; improved network speeds from Goddard DAAC to UMBC server to 10 Gb/s. -Generated 4 months of global daily gridded averaged radiance datasets from both AIRS/AMSU and MODIS. - Validated consistency of AIRS & MODIS spectral radiances employing WCS/WMS to generate daily datasets of gridded brightness temperatures at instrument resolution . - 5 pubs in nat’l & int’l conf. &science community briefings Issues: None- Funding sources: ACCESS Partners: University of Maryland Baltimore Campus, NOAA National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Decision support system: Service Oriented Atmospheric Radiance (SOAR) Objectives:- Transform SOAR v 0 prototype system to an SOA web service based on a robust gridding system - Generated 1 global 15 mo. daily gridded averaged AIRS radiance dataset @2 x 0.5 deg and a 1 mo. 1x 0.5 deg. Also generated a 1 week MODIS gridded radiance data set. - Develop processing system to provide on-demand subsetting services from the 2 global gridded data sets - Provide on-demand arbitrary grid resolutions & bounding box gridded radiance satellite data - Outreach to science community on project accomplishments- Extend on demand gridding to MODIS radiances Issues: infrastructure to support added system capabilities FY08 Major Milestones and Schedule:Q1:Generated a global AIRS /AMSU 15mo. first in gridded radiance dataset (2 x 0.5deg). V 1.0 release of full SOA system gridding functionality. Q2: Completed 2 yrs of global averaged AIRS ( 1 x 0.5 ddeg) &1 month of MODIS gridded radiance dataset. First ever. Provided difference fields for multi-sensor spectral radiances. Expanded system to include on-demand high res gridding. Q3-4:Expand system to incorporate WCS & WMS features. Budget:FY06: $ 70.23 K, FY07: $ 69.61 K FY 08 Carry over $15K
