  2. Amo 1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

  3. THE GEO-POLITICAL BACKGROUND OF THE BOOK OF AMOS FOR NORTHERN ISRAEL TIMES WERE RELATIVELY STABLE AND PROSPEROUS UNDER KING JEROBOAM II

  4. Amo 1:2 And he said, Yehovahwill roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem;...

  5. Greater City Of Jerusalem Mt. Zion – 2 Sam. 5:7 Mt. Moriah Solomon Temple Site “Zion” became a metonymy for all of Jerusalem, Mt. Zion and Mt. Moriah (Example – “Hollywood” is a metonymy for the US film industry – The “Whitehouse” is a metonymy for presidential authority) Mount Of Olives

  6. Amo 1:2 And he said, Yehovahwill roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

  7. (14) And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. (15) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (16) And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (12) His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. (13) And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

  8. (32) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. (33) And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung/manure upon the ground. Jer25:30-33 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. (31) A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

  9. Ezekiel – 40-48 Isa 2:3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

He has given us His Word and His authority to go forth and proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to a lost and deceived world.
