May 28 - Board Meeting (after regular meeting) June 4 - Teacher Of The Year Award Presentation June 13 - Club Leadership Education (CLE) Training June 25 - Committee Meetings, Board Meeting June 25-28 - Kiwanis International, Nashville, TN July 30 - DCM, 6pm, Windsor Parke Aug 27-30- Florida Kiwanis Meeting, Orlando, Rosen Centre Hotel Interclub Chairman Al Russ rounded up another group of Beaches Kiwanians to participate in a combination DCM and Interclub. This latest event was hosted by the Deerwood Club at Deercreek Country Club last Tuesday, May 12th. Although no longer (for the time being) Division Five's largest club, we again brought the largest group of attendees. An interesting Division Five update was presented; and a pleasant meal and evening was had by all.  The Beaches Club was represented by Debbie Johnson, Ed Robinson, Lal Ramdeen, Dick Brand, Bill Montgomery, Al Russ, Doris Barnes, Bill MacLeod, John Bates and Jim Lee. The non-Beaches person in the picture is Div. Five Lt. Governor Brad Davis. Judson Cutts, hosted by Walt Pfeil THE HATS AND HUGS PROGRAM Bill Montgomery …….A Florida statewide Kiwanis effort to offer comfort by providing hats and head coverings for children fighting cancer, and stuffed animals to children during traumatic events & emergencies. The committee/volunteers are:  John Bates, Nancy Bernard, Dick Brand, Debbie Johnson, and Doris Barnes. KIWANIS DAY WITH THE TAMPA BAY RAYS CLE TRAINING Saturday, June 13th Kiwanians last year turned out in record numbers for Kiwanis Day with the Rays being held on June 14, 2009. The deadline to order your $15 ticket is June 5, 2009. Come watch our 2008-09 Governor David Liddell, Jr. throw the first pitch; do not miss this wonderful opportunity. Club Presidents and Secretaries, please let your members know of this exciting event. Florida District of Kiwanis Hello Kiwanis Friends, CLE Training for Division Five will be hosted by Westside Kiwanis Club.  Training will begin at 8:30 A.M. with sign in at 8:00 A.M.  Training will take place at Lake Shore Baptist Church 2363 Blanding Blvd. Jacksonville.  All President Elects and Secretaries are required to be trained prior to taking office. Cost of the  training will be $15.00 for each attendee. This will cover the coffee and snacks for breakfast along with lunch from Sonny's Bar-B-Que.  Make checks payable to Westside Kiwanis Club. Cash works also. Please RSVP to me no later than June 1st, 2009.  If you are unable to make the training, and would like to train in Gainesville June 6th with Division 4, let me know right away. and I will try to set that up.
