  1. Lab 1: The Bacteriostatic and Bactericidal Action of Antibiotics. R R R Go R A600 reading show the growth for 3 consecutive readings 4 ml Shake Subculture E. coli o/n 40 ml LB in R and C 4 ml C C C Go C Centrifuge at 4, 000rpm for 15min at 37°C. Wash the cells twice with 20ml fresh LB media prewarmed to 37°C (see note 4). Resuspend the final pellet (see note 5) to 40ml in a clean 250ml shake flask. Shake 1ml ethanol (2mg chloramphenicol) 3 consecutive readings Take reading every 10 min Shake Continue incubation at 37°C, with shaking, and read A600 every 15min for a further 60-90min. 1ml methanol (1mg rifampicin) Prepared by Angelia Teo Jan 09 Plot graph and discuss
