Regional Membership Elected Roles: • Chair – The University Central Lancashire Students Union (Kelly Burdett) • Vice-chair – Manchester Met Cheshire (Phil Kynaston) Other Universities engaged include: • Cumbria University • MU/ MMU Cheshire • Salford University • UCLAN • NEWI • Glynder • Bangor • Keele • Chester University/ Chester Warrington • Bolton University • Lancaster University • Liverpool LJM • University of Manchester

What we do Aim: • To enhance existing and develop new competitive and recreational programmes, activities and initiatives that can improve the quality and quantity of sporting opportunity for students in Higher Education. • Focussing on sharing of best practice, identifying partners and opportunities that could help to offer a broader range and availability of activities. Key Work Areas: • BUCS Competition • Give It A Go • Varsity • Intra Mural

  6. Where we are NOW! Agreed Terms of Reference and MISSION STATEMENT: ‘To increase the quality and quantity of sport available to every student in the North West through joint working and sharing good practice.’ • Helped BUCS Nationally stabilise the current competitions and new Cup structures. • Focussed on some Best Practice sharing possible more beneficial for the more developing Union’s and University’s Sport.

  7. Future Developments Strategic Developments: 1. From Aims develop SMART Objectives 2. More Representative Involvement from the Region Operational Developments: 1. Continue the On going work to tweak competitions and Cup structure ironing out problems as a when required. 2. Involvement of Potential Agencies/partners that we cant work with and/or learn from • National Governing Bodies • Regional Clubs • Sports Development Officers from around the Region • County Sports Partnerships • OTHERS?? ??
