  1. CASManagebac

  2. Managebac+ CAS • You will be using ManageBac to keep track of your CAS progress. • You will be able to submit ideas to me, enter your experiences and write your reflections in ManageBac. • This will streamline CAS and make it easy for you to stay on top of it and easy for me to monitor your progress.

  3. Cas experiences and reflections • Any activity you do for CAS is considered a CAS experience. • Log in to ManageBac • Click the CAS tab at the top • Click on your name and begin entering pertinent information. • Once you submit an activity I will review and approve it if it meets the criteria for the strand. • After completing the experience you will add your reflections, which I will review and mark as completed. • All of you entries, along with my comments, will be documented in your “worksheet”.

  4. Cas project • For your CAS project, which you will be collaborating with another DP student(s) on, you will also enter pertinent information on ManageBac. • I need to enter the CAS project groups in ManageBac, then you can join the groups. • Confer with your groups and designate one person to email me with the following Monday 9/9. 1.) Group member’s names 2.) Strand(s) of CAS (creativity, activity, service) 3.) Title of your project

Learning outcomes • LO 1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth • LO 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process • LO 3- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience • LO 4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience • LO 5- Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively • LO 6- Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance • LO 7- Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions (use CAS experiences to understand the ethical systems explored in TOK.) • Once you have reflected upon and met all of the learning outcomes, you will see green checkmarks for all your entries on your CAS worksheet, signifying that your CAS Programme is complete.

  6. Quickstart guide • Log in to ManageBac and download the CAS QuickStart Guide under the CAS tab on the left side of the screen. • This guide will give you step-by-step instructions for entering activities, experiences and reflections. • You must start entering your activities by Tuesday 9/3.

  7. reminders • Successfully completing CAS is one of the requirements of earning your IB diploma. • You must convince me that you have completed CAS honestly and authentically, in order to satisfy this requirement. • Feel free to email me or see me during class for further clarification. • Email me CAS project info by Monday 9/9. • snoe@cnusd.k12.ca.us • Start entering CAS ideas and experiences by Tuesday 9/3.
